Franz Mikorey, a well-known sculptor, was born and raised in Partenkirchen. He received his initial artistic training at the local sculpture school. From 1925 to 1930, Mikorey pursued advanced studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under the mentorship of Josef Wackerle.
Following the conclusion of the Second World War, Mikorey became actively involved in the art community. He served as president of the restored Munich branch in 1946 and joined the exhibition management team for the esteemed Great Art Exhibition at the Haus der Kunst Munich. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Mikorey was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1969. He died in Munich in 1986 and is buried in the Solln Cemetery.
