August Robatz, an Austrian sculptor, born in 1757 is a seldom referenced person of the arts. He studied sculpture under the guidance of Franz Anton Zauner, serving both as an assistant and student. In 1810, he crafted a bust of the composer Franz Joseph Haydn, which was mistakenly signed as "Heyden" and can be seen in Walhalla.

Robatz was commissioned for another bust, Emperor Charles V, but never arrived and its current location remains unknown. Robatz also specialized in figurative sculpture. His life and works are noted in various pieces of literature, including a 1934 publication and a 2011 dissertation focusing on the portrait busts of Walhalla.
