Hermann Schorer, born in 1909, held a position as a professor of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. One of his notable creations includes the bust of Carl Maria von Weber for Walhalla, crafted in 1978.

Among his other celebrated works is "Höllensturz" (Fall into Hell), inspired by the Revelation of John. This imposing piece resides in the courtyard of the White Castle in Heroldsberg and dramatically portrays the Archangel Michael, adorned with golden wings, as he forcefully repels the devil back into Hell.
